Glynn County Jail, a new correctional facility completed in September, was featured in Correctional News earlier last month. Located just off the coast in Brunswick, GA, the new $20.6 million facility was built to meet the county’s growing needs. The new complex can house up to 612 inmates; twice as many as the former Brunswick facility. Phillips Gradick Engineering provided the HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing design for the project, which includes an administrative office building, inmate housing pods, and an inmate dormitory. Working with other members of the design team, PGE incorporated factors such as the local climate and energy-efficiency in the design of the jail. Glynn County can save up to millions of dollars over the lifetime of the jail due to its energy-saving design.
