Previously the Highland Park Gingham Mill and Highland Park Mill #1, Optimist Hall was originally home to Charlotte’s largest textile mill. In 2016, it became Charlotte’s first food hall while also providing retail space.
Phillips Gradick Engineering (PGE), with the help of Cluck Design Collaborative as architect, was responsible for the upfit of six tenants: Honeysuckle Gelato, Felix Empanadas, Papi Queso, Suarez, Pet Wants and Xiao Bao. The spaces range from 400 square feet to 1,000 square feet and feature full kitchens, food bars, and retail space. High end dog treats, fried mochi, and one of the best grilled cheeses in town are among the items that can be found at these shops.
PGE has helped turn each of their vision into a reality. Now, they’re ready to serve you with delish and fun food, and a great dining experience!
